I'd suggest giving the BAEC a call - they should be able to help and advise on the availability of the avios upgrade to CW. they've been extremely helpful whenever I've rung about this.
How did you get them to waive the £100 change fee? Is there a magic word we can use? I have never been able to get the fee waived in all my attempts.
