Why are you disappointed? This is disclosed on the Diners website:

Starting on August 16, 2005, a Diners Club customer must present both his/her Diners Club card and his/her EVA Air boarding pass to enter the EVA VIP Lounge.

...they offered to waive my annual renewal fee, then several months later offered me a Citibank Mastercard with 1.25 point per every dollar spent, no membership fees for the first year plus triple points per dollar on the Diners if I take up their offer.
In which country is your Diners Club card issued?
