The answer is exactly the same:-So it all depends on whether you're being offered the special offer fixed price upgrade (which IME is always marked as a special offer), or whether you're seeing the normal fare rules (fare difference plus change fee) upgrade cost. If it's the latter, then you can MFU thereafter. If it's a special offer upgrade, you can't MFU thereafter.
Thanks a lot for this clarification. Seems that my outbound flight has a "special offer" for the WT+ upgrade - so if taken I would get a non-upgradable P ticket. The inbound, however, does not have the "special offer" label for the WT+ upgrade - so if taken it should then be possible to upgrade further to CW with Avios, subject to availability of course. Not surprisingly the inbound upgrade price is very much more expensive than the outbound "special offer" though!
