I have a realistic view about long-distance travel, and the pitfalls and hurdles. Whenever one travels, there is always a real risk that something will go wrong. Lift breakdowns are actually one of the less likely issues.
I do not expect airlines and airports to have massive and expensive standby arrangements just in case it might save me a few minutes, nor do I expect the world to revolve around me, my convenience, and my problems. (Nor, you will understand, do I believe any marketing spin to that effect.) I am only one Gold amongst tens of thousands; I am only one passenger amongst millions.
Others, I entirely accept, may view have different views of their own importance and of the importance of their own journeys; and of what it is reasonable to expect to be done for them.
