Not sure I agree with you on this one. You're paying the annual fee for specific features and benefits (e.g. travel insurance, hotel partner programs, car hire partner programs, lounge access etc). If you don't receive those advertised benefits then you have a reasonable complaint. If it's not advertised as a benefit and you don't receive it, it's hard to justify a grievance regardless of the level of membership fee.
My concern is that some card members are getting benefits that others are not, and yet we all pay the same fee. There is, therefore, an inequality in the way Amex are treating customers and I will have no further part in it.
