So we already all know two things:
1) Booked Hilton nights using points counts as 1 stay for elite status
2) Normally, consecutive *paid* nights, even if on separate reservations, don't count as multiple stays if consecutive (HHonors combines them into one stay).
HOWEVER, what if we book via this algorithm using paid/points/paid/points:
First night paid
Second night points
Third night paid
Fourth night points
...although consecutive, but because of the interstitial paid/points/point/points system... would we therefore earn 4 stay credits?
thanks for your thoughts.
You have ONE stay, but 4 nights credit. The T&C specify consecutive nights will be counted as a single stay. Doesn't matter how you pay for each of the nights (points vs $$) or how many time you check in and out. If you have consecutive nights, it will credited as ONE stay only.
The best you can do is 3 stays by moving to ANOTHER Hilton hotel for one of the nights in the middle and then back or 4 stays by moving between 2 Hilton hotels every other night. But you CANNOT stay at the same hotel for all 4 nights and get 4 stay credits.
