These scheduling deals are not last minute changes of aircraft either - they seem to commonly be the planned operation 24 hours ahead of time. There is no way that UA can run an on-time operation when they are scheduling this way. I am sitting at SFO right now with an on-time departure on the board but the inbound, even if on time, wll arrive 7 minutes after boarding for my flight is supposed to start. Of course, it is now showing 6 minutes late so that will push it even more. It's no wonder that UA is seeing the abysmal on-time stats that they are seeing.

Amen -- fly up and down California coast twice/week and have been doing so for three years. Since 3/3, there have been many, many instances when my inbound aircraft has arrived "on time," but 5 to 10 minutes past my scheduled boarding time. In almost every instance, my flight has departed late. On a good weather day, this is not a huge problem as UA builds enough time into its scheduled for an on-time arrival. However, given the WX at SFO and frequent flow control delays both northbound and southbound, late departures make a bad situation even worse.
