You got screwed. GA should've bumped a medallion upgrade (if there were any) to the back instead of a paid fare. Definitely send in a complaint. Unfortunately they'll probably only throw you some miles, or try to give you that canned bs response about it being an -UP fare. Don't let them get away with that. You paid for first, you should get first or be compensated.
