I received the Hyatt visa about 4 months ago and I booked my 2 free nights at the Park Hyatt Sydney for February stay. Not sure if things have changed but that was only 4 moths ago.

As far as the new years availability, I would just call the gold passport line and have them check for your specific dates. It will be 22k point a night or the free stay certificates.
