At the very least, rightly or wrongly, I put it down about BA thinking of non-British Europeans as a very 'secondary' interest. There has been a movement from a situation where continentals had a better situation to UK-based to one where they equally clearly have a worse situation than UK-based (same thresholds, higher redemptions, less good service, significantly lower earning possibilities and perks).
