For me, it's not so much those three accidents, but the fact that AF447 was quickly followed by another (very) serious incident on a similar route, in which one of the saving graces appears to have been that the aircraft did not degrade into alternate law.

I don't myself cast any specific aspersions on the individual crew. The way I see it, it appears that there may be a philosophy/culture problem at AF - and unfortunately, that sort of problem is perhaps the hardest to eradicate.

It will be interesting to see (if I can watch it) what the C4 programme makes of it, and whether the programme can satisfy the first and most basic requirement of factual accuracy before going on to anything more difficult and taxing like analysis. Thanks for letting us know, BOH.
