My last three stays I've been signed up for earning miles (to take advantage of 3x miles). As a Platinum, I ask for the points as a welcome amenity, but I haven't seen them post to my account. It occurs to me that I might not be able to get points if my earnings preference is set to miles. Am I right about this? If so, I'll take the free beer until I switch my earnings preference back to points.
