Remember that a lot of accident details are NOT released to the public. We weren't even allowed to remove the book from the office. We had to read the accident reports right there.

The fact an infant died or was injured because they were loose in their parents' lap is not something that would be reported in the press. In one accident, a Flight Attendant saw three babies fly in the air during an accident but this was never information that was made public.

They will also ague each individual case. For example, if a child dies of smoke inhalation, how do you know for sure that wouldn't happen if the child had been in a car seat? For example, if everyone in their section died of the same cause.

There is so little accident information because there are so few accidents that it's difficult to come to any airtight conclusions.
