I think that some of the discrepancy in posters' experiences might be that in-room breakfast is sometimes not OFFERED, but is nevertheless AVAILABLE. The same is true of various Diamond benefits (as well as those for Plats), sometimes they mention things like free internet or late checkout and sometimes they don't. In some cases it is a lack of knowledge on the part of staff and other times it is an assumption that the guest already knows.

It would be really nice if someday the Diamond breakfast benefit could always be more flexible. We would love room service, but even if that were not possible, a credit for a la cart would be nice, as light eaters and not fond of buffets.
