I would vote for the W, especially if the weather is likely to permit you to enjoy the pool deck and its views. Compared to many Ws, it's not so extreme and I don't find their rooms to be aggressively modern like some Ws. The worst from your perspective is likely to be the elevator ride to the 6th floor lobby, which is dark and can be loud. The upstairs hallways aren't black nor are the rooms I've seen, which I would describe as functional and pleasant, decorated in light but interesting and soothing colors.
