I'm thinking I want to book a mileage run over a weekend (Friday night - Sun) in the next month or two on UA (or US/*A) out of SAN or CLD (or SNA, LGB, or LAX is OK if it is a good enough deal, but not preferred).

I need 15k miles and I'm willing to spend up to a total of $1,000. I'm not necessarily looking for the best $ deal (although that would obviously be ideal) - I'm more looking for ideas. I don't know where to go!

International or domestic is fine. Any city, big or small, works too.

What have you done from SAN or CLD on UA?
