A month ago, I could use the LH site to manage my seating and select "preferred" seats on LH flights.

Currently, I "preferred" seats on LH are blocked. LH says there was a recent change and "preferred" seats are availale to UA Platinum only 24 hours ahead of flight.

UA says the seats are unavailable.

Is there a change at LH.com, and is there a workaround to allow "preferred" seats to be bookable for UA platinums? I am looking for exit row on FRA-SEA.
