Landing checks being complete before landing is a measurable competency and the fact that a go-around was required is pretty prima facie evidence of the competency not being met.
Well at least they did a go around. If the cabin was not secure it could have posed many more threats to safety. That is what process and procedures are for.
Even if the flight crew made an error in not giving the 10 minute call - at least the backup procedures were effective.
