Greetings All
This read isn't going to sit well with many but here goes
Here's a hotly debated topic that will never die among Hyatt Gold Passport longtime loyalists.
If true its a very sad day indeed that we as Gold Passport members have little left of the program
to look forward too promotionally of any major substance.
For many it was disappointing enough that G bonuses were ended
However this was a deal maker or breaker for many Gold Passport members so if true I hear your pain.
No one can argue that Gold Passport remains a good in house recognition program that can compete or exceed expectations with the best of them
and it’s certainly mildly rewarding when earning points on staying in Hyatt hotels. However I do significantly better today in my other of less preferred hotel loyalty programs.
As I read between the lines Hyatt when compared to a number of programs now becomes a weaker program when we compare value proposition solely on the ability to earn promotional points or other incentives in comparison to their hotel loyalty programs. Of course value is subjective to many and perhaps can’t be measured for all on what individual program awards the most bonus points. For the price sensitive customer the way many of are or start out as it’s a big deal maker or breaker
Perhaps off topic
Gold Passport is also a vastly weaker program for those seeking lifetime Diamond top tier status for those choosing airline miles over points.
One would be better staying with SPG if lifetime status was somthing that matters for their long term loyalty
In Gold Passport one would earn nothing towards that goal even on eligible rate plans when choosing miles. Not the case in SPG
I am a big admirer of
Gary Leff’s "View From a Wing" and I enclose a very important link on topic that many will want to be aware of
Just another one of a hundred reasons to subscribe to his completely complimentary blog that never fails to teach me something I hadn't realized twenty years later into the loyalty program arena
