Sounds like you're doing Airbnb or something similar? There's nothing in the way of a real hotel in those areas (at least the Manhattan addresses you've cited.)
Be advised that, at least for the Manhattan locations, you might not be in the most wonderful of neighborhoods. I can't speak for the Brooklyn addresses, but I live close enough to Washington Heights to know that area quite well.
You're right - I am doing Airbnb. The places I've mentioned so far are those that are within my budget. However, you guys seem to be telling me that they aren't the best neighbourhoods. I'm definitely willing to spend more if it means I'll be safe. Any recommended neighbourhoods?

What are you planning to do in NYC and where do you plan on going?
I'm going around to all the touristy landmarks and will be spending quite a bit of time going to Broadway. Eating will be second priority and then shopping. So it seems Manhattan and Brooklyn will probably be the places I frequent.
