Thanks!!!
What time of day and day of week? You might get lucky if traveling on a Saturday, early Sun AM or if taking flight 22 or 180 during the week. If you're on one of the redeye flights, definitely use miles & copay. The morning flights are generally full in J and there have been times I've been in the back along with other PLT and EXP during the week. Why not use miles and copay for your mom and take a chance on a normal EXP upgrade for yourself unless you need/want to sit together?
