Bumping thread. Any new data? We are flying in J and I see the weight limit is 22 pounds for a carry-on. Do I need to be concerned if we are a few pounds over?

As long as it is a MLC and doesn't look excessively heavy, it should be fine. Colleague of mine flew PEK-HKG with a 4 day layover onward home to JFK on CX (77's on both segments) and was fine, she was in Y. No hassles whatsoever, and she had a 2nd. canvas bag with 3 dolls & a few other things inside.
