It sounds like the tray setup for economy breakfast; they're supposed to add either of the hot items to the tray, I believe. Perhaps they forgot, had food safety issues or simply didn't feel like it. Did it look like there was a space for the missing hot dish?
Nope... the tray was too small and already "packed".

But I have an OT question for you - could you hear the explanation of the delay - I believe the flight was repatriating the remains of a soldier, but I could not understand what was said.
