We as 1Ks, GS and first class ticket holders are left with a scrum....
^^ the old process worked better, no matter how many people try to claim otherwise.

UA knew how to set expectations and board a plane quickly. Now pax are trained with a Pavlovian response to the rugby scrum call that unnecessarily slows and complicates the whole process. Every tier loses in this scenario, and we collectively lose hours of our lives with earlier boarding times than before the process was made less efficient.
^^ Best single description I've read. When the new management opened up the carpet to more passengers - I guess in order to make more people feel "special" - they created the current chaos.
I used to wait in the RCC/UC until right before boarding. Not any more. Hey - maybe this is ploy to get us out of the clubs and have one fewer "free" drink before we board!
