How long do missing mileage requests take to show up? Do they send you any confirmation either way when they're done processing the request?

I've done something odd here and I wonder what's going to happen and how I can fix it. What happened is a flew a flight on SWISS a while back, and when I flew the flight I had my AC number on the reservation and the boarding passes. Immediately after the flight I spoke to an agent and she removed the AC info but wasn't sure if it would have already been credited. The miles never showed up in AC.

Now I want to credit those flights to UA and I filed a missing mileage request along with a few LH flights. The LH flights have credited but the SWISS flights haven't shown up yet. How long should I wait before deciding some extraordinary measures need to be taken.

I'm thinking of sending the a PDF of my AC activity and explain the situation in a letter. But I wonder how long I should wait and how I can know when the first request has failed.

Also, incidentally, anyone know any good mileage runs from Europe for about 3-7k by the end of the year? (depending on how this goes...
