Hi Folks – I wanted to see if anyone has an idea for my problem. I booked my parents flights from LAX-LHR-ATH for the end of this month. The only thing available when I booked several months ago was Club World so I took that. I monitored periodically and a first class ticket opened up from LAX-LHR several weeks after my initial booking. So I booked that as a separate booking from LAX-LHR in my Dads name. I didn’t want to upgrade the existing booking out of fear another first class would not open up and I didn't want to have my parents in separate cabins for the long flight.

Yesterday a 2nd first class ticket from LAX-LHR opened up for their flight so I booked that in my Moms name. I am now holding a first class ticket in the name of both Dad and Mom from LAX-LHR as well as a Club World booking for each from LAX-LHR-ATH.

I called the Executive Club and asked them to modify the bookings so my parents utilize the first class I have booked from LAX-LHR and then continue on in the Club Europe from LHR-ATH (essentially just wanting to cancel the LAX-LHR component in Club World on my original booking). The lady I spoke with said she can’t do that. She can’t combine bookings and she can’t drop the LAX-LHR segment so we’re left with just the tickets from LHR-ATH.

There is no other space currently showing on the LHR-ATH flight so I can’t just rebook it. I’m afraid if I cancel any of my existing reservations thinking I could just re-book as needed the tickets would not go back into award inventory. I don’t have any flexibility to change the dates/flight times because they are traveling with another couple to get on a cruise and their arrival in Athens coincides with their 40th wedding anniversary.

Any idea or suggestions? Thank you in advance.
