I was writing to inquire if anyone can recomend a portable single driver rechargeable speaker to be used with an iphone. My requirements are that it needs to fit in my backpack/pocket (if possible), has a rechargeable battery, last around 8 hours of continuous video sound/music, loud enough to play in a 20x20 room and easily be recharged.

I have the
Kinivo ZX100 and
iHome IHM60PT and they both work equally well. I like the Kinivo the best, it has a wrap around cord along the base, the sound is a tiny bit better and I like the style better than the iHome. Both have a lot of positive reviews. I have had them both a year and a half and they still work. There are probably newer models now. The price point for both are $20 or less so I would call the sound quality fantastic. I use them with my iPhone, iPad and pre-iPad my Kindle Fire. They are both very small and fit in the palm of my hand. I cannot tell you exactly how long they will last but I have used both around 4 hours straight without recharging.
