Hello all,

I will be traveling to Thailand in early January and will be spending 3-4 nights in Chiang Mai. I am having a tough time figuring out what hotel to stay at.

Ideally I'd love a hotel that is less than $100 USD per night. If it is slightly more, I would consider it.

What I am looking for in the hotel is:

1) Location, location, location - the easier it is to walk, or if it is a cheap taxi, the better.
2) Amenities - I don't want to stay at a hostel, however, I don't need the Four Seasons. Something clean, nice rooms, etc.
3) Friendly service - a place where the staff is pleasant and I don't feel like I am being taken advantage of since I'm a tourist.
