We only do leisure flights but due to some flights to PEK, we had both reached Silver last November. Our understanding was that we would be in PEK for 3 years and had 2 return PEK-LHR flights due each year, so with clever planning, could retain Silver easily, so even though our year reset in March, I booked a redemption flight to the UK in April = 0 tp's.

However, we were then returned to the UK unexpectedly at the end of April, so no more CW PEK flights and from a new balance of 140tp's from the end of April, we've only got just over half of the tp's needed to retain Silver for next year, unless we do a TP run, which will be expensive

If only I hadn't done a redemption flight, we would need only a small amount of tp's but so be it, disappointing but not the end of the world.
