I'm thinking of getting an Amex Card, but which one? I have 1 other travel Visa card
First thing is first, I'm in Canada. But most of my spending is in US dollars.
I have a small business that I use to rack up points on my RBC Infinite Avion card and I also have a RBC US Gold visa card since the purchases I make are in USD. I don't need a business card, as I can use a personal one as well so I'm not limited to either or.
I put a good amount on the cards, and I use the 1.5x BA/Avios conversion promotions to stock up on points that I can use for the oneworld partnership. Normally I use Cathay and AA.
I've started to hear about SPG and their card that can use points to book hotels and resorts, which sounds pretty nice. I travel to NYC a bit and don't mind traveling to somewhere warmer like Mexico or Bahamas.
My main goal is to find a card that I can collect a lot of points (since I spend a lot), and convert into either free airline tickets, hotels, or even resorts.
I don't mind paying an annual fee, but I don't want to spend $700 (CND Amex Platinum) if the benefits aren't suitable for me.
If I do get an Amex card, I will most likely keep both RBC cards since they work in conjunction to accumulate BA miles.
Any input is appreciated! I look forward to hearing some great advice on which cards which will be be suited for an end user that spends a lot, and wants to transfer those points into airline tickets, hotels and resorts.
Thanks!
