Yes, it does seem to be something linked to a setting on my computer (or in both my IE and FF settings). I just checked and don't see the same behaviour in Safari on an iPad.

But what setting might it be? I've experimented with removing all restrictions on pop-ups, scripts and ads -- didn't help.
