Just returned from 3 nights at this property.
As mentioned, no exec lounge and as a Marriott Plat staying at a Ritz -- unless upgraded we typically would not have access anyway.
Staff / Service was excellent and the grounds were beautiful. Service by the pool was frequent and friendly. No discounted or free breakfast, and although they did upgrade my room, it was only a 1 category upgrade. Even still, the room was very nice.
It is a Ritz, and prices for food and drink are indicative of it. The upside for the breakfast buffet is that the cost includes champagne and bloody mary's.
The resort grounds are expansive with the monastery and golf course - and while there -- you can not see any other structures to speak of, so really gives a nice remote feel. 10-15 minutes driving (and not getting lost) puts you either in the seaside Cascais or World Heritage town of Sintra -- both great for exploring and dining.
The very modern interior of Arola bar/restaurant within the monastery is a strange but nice taste of old and new.
For golfers.. The course is very nice, although seemed to play alot slower than it needed to (4h30m). Again its a Ritz... and similar to other courses in the area, golf carts (buggies) are a bit expensive. No 1/2 price for single golfers - hand carts were 5 euros.
Upon checkout.. The bellman volunteered to grab my rental car from the self park garage and had it loaded up before I got to the front desk.
