Are u sure we could combine different rates stays even they are consecutive? I have failed one month before since the diamond line reps told me that if you want to combine it then it would be different rates(higher rates) for the whole stay and I think that is the reason why OP book the room separately.
I've only tried it once, and it did work, but it was awhile ago, and it took awhile on the phone to get it right. I suppose just because they did it that one time, doesn't necessarily mean it will always work.
