hmm. I actually view free bottles of water and beverages as needed / taken back to the room as a key benefit of lounge access. I may feel guilty about the food, but I feel supplying me with beverages for the higher room fee (or platinum status) is the least they can do.
After all, what is an exec lounge for if it's light on food and you aren't supposed to load up on beverages?
+1 Hamburg Marriott actually has a policy that you are allowed to stock up your fridge with drinks from the lounge and from the lobby shop. We were actually told at check-in, and it's what a lounge supposed to be.
