Indeed, and I would actually argue AA's elite qualifying is the most complex of UA/DL/AA, since UA and DL only have EQMs, and simply issue more EQMs for higher fares. Only AA has the EQPs.
I find AAdvantage simple, because you can focus on any one of the three buckets. You don't need to hit more than one bucket.
