Agreed. An 'almost 2yo' will want a playground, or perhaps the pool, or will want to sit and pick at a leaf all day.
That's why I asked if they are planning the holiday around a 2 year old, or if they actually want to see some sights. Bring the child, but still enjoy oneself is my suggestion, and don't plan a holiday for a toddler. They'll come along and find enjoyment in almost anything.
+1 You'll probably regret that you spent your nice time at a theme park/kids friendly place, unless you only expect to have 1 kid. You don't know how little you can do when they start demanding things
