I've got the exact opposite issue. I routinely fly IAH->YYZ and since the merger always wants to push me through ORD. So as a result I now use the multi-city option to exclusively route via EWR. Generally the flights cost out about the same (< $50) and IAH->EWR->YYZ garners me 1900 EQM vs 1450 EQM over IAH-<ORD->YYZ. I book generous connection times (>2 Hours) when transiting EWR, so connection delays generally don't cause too much turmoil.
