Why does UA/CO want me to connect at EWR?
Increasingly, when I try to book flights online I seem to be pushed to options that involve connecting at EWR. I used to hate connecting at IAD, but EWR has made me view IAD with a whole new attitude. At least most of the flights between ROC and IAD actually happen. I fly about once a week and no matter what time I arrive at ROC it seems that half of the days flights to EWR are delayed or canceled. My favorite is UA 4470. According to united.com, 4470 is On time 30% Late 34% Canceled 23%. (Interesting that adds up to 87%. I wonder what happens to the other 13%).
Any suggestions on how I can view more options to connect at IAD or ORD (or even CLE) without having to call? I have tried making it a multi-city trip and including my preferred connecting city but that is cumbersome.
