I had the similar experience. I book under corporate rate using just my name. When I checked in with my wife, they want to charge a higher price. I never encounter such problem before with other hotel. I have no success explaining to them I have never need to pay additional in all other hotels I stay.

However, when I gave them my Hilton Gold membership, it was waived immediately. I am back with the original corporate rate.
