Valencia is interesting if you like a mix of old and new. Ciudad de las Artes y Ciencias is like walking into a sci-fi movie. If you head to Barcelona, Sitges is a nice beach town. I didn't find much to do in Malaga itself, though I only stayed overnight before heading to Sevilla. I stayed at the Tryp Alameda which was quite decent.
Been to both Valencia and Barcelona last year during October. Valencia is a quaint old town that is easily walkable. Can be seen in a day or two. Nightlife is suprisingly good. I am not into dance clubs, but found a raunchy fun leatherbar, "Nuncadigono".
I found gay nightlife in Barcelona snobbish. Too much narcism for my taste.
