+1 - MCT is a time established by the carrier's policy. It's not what any individual pax thinks he needs to get from Gate A to Gate B. If the connection time is below the MCT, it's an illegal connection. Period. Have people ever made connections below the MCT? Of course. Is it a good idea to cut it close on intl. connections where there could be a several day wait for the next flight with availability? No.
