I've transferred to EuroBonus from BMI Diamond Club after the BA takeover.

I am not entirely clear how EB works though. My EB gold is valid to July 2014 and I have so far racked up 36000 points and should hit 50,000 by the end of September.

What is confusing me is the "Qualifying Flights" - what are they? Most of my travel will be between Asia and Australia so it's unlikely I'll fly too many times on SAS - will the 50,000 basic points retain the gold card after 07/2014 and if so for how long?
