First of all, 14 days just isn't enough time to do everything you'd like to do - double that time and then it would be fine.
Your first stop could be Danang/Hoi An out of Singapore - Silk Air flies direct from Singapore to Danang International Airport. The beach there is excellent, and Hoi An is a fantastic intro to Vietnam in my opinion (certainly much nicer than Saigon).
(bus travel would eat up all of that 14 days, by the way)
