Does anything need to be filed afterward at the time, such as the final copy or some signed forms?

Can you take a redeye back to the east coast and go to work the day you arrive? That would give you more options, including returning a rental car to LAX and flying from there in combination with the flight into SNA. This could save money.
It's actually an oral board exam. All I have to do after it's done is get the hell outta there (and that's kinda what they expect from you). It's being held in the hotel that I'm staying, so I'll basically leave the test, grab my stuff and get going.
Redeye is out of the question since I have to physically be at work at 6:30am on the 3rd. So, ideally a flight leaving SAN anywhere after 12pm works. I'll definitely have to look into flying through MSP instead.
