Am currently waiting to board a UA intl plane at ORD, but they say they can't board anyone due to the "plane being too hot" and the pilot wants to "let it cool off".

I've never heard this one before. Is it BS? I really hope it isn't a serious MX problem that's going to seriously delay or cx the flight.

I see from united.com that the flight arrived a very long time ago.
