Oh, well eff those guys.

One time, I did score a free Woodford from an FA, though. Definitely one of the best perks of my SkyMiles Member status at the time. I didn't even ask for it to be comped. I just ordered my drink, showed her my Gold Delta SkyMiles American Express card (they issue these to any SkyMiles Member - you just have to fill out an online form), and she thanked me and waved it off. I even got two bags of pretzels!

I'm certain it wasn't because I was remained friendly and accommodating after having to play musical seats three or four times during boarding (everything was a mess that night due to WX) and ended up in a middle somewhere behind the wing so they could seat a family together that had been bumped from an earlier flight that was cancelled. That couldn't have been it.
