If it is the case that the LAX-MCO-MIA routing only works with a redeye then if it was me I'd stick with the daytime connection and forgo the 60 extra TPs
The above routing is particularly interesting in that unusally for an overnight flight it is NOT a 757. AA's First 757s are at best OK for a day flight, but would be terrible for sleeping in. 737s are somewhat better but there are not some many night flights with this aircraft. There are no AA lounge facilities at MCO.
