I've managed it @ Moana in HNL.
Was @ another property, walked over and asked to speak to rooms manager.
I explained I'd be willing to move for a C & P rate, he agreed, prebooked me a suite, we called SPG Plat together to coordinate the award, (took 10 minutes), and we were all sorted. Moana got 2 nights of some room revenue, including a $200 meal, where they would have got nothing. The gentleman was very helpful to both the owner of the hotel, and us. Group Win.
