IIRC, they do retroactive credit (since they want to expire those miles to expire in 3 years). I guess it's worth a shot, what's the worse that could happen right? Just be prepared to keep all boarding passes, tickets etc though as you will have to submit them (they might be okay with fax nowadays). PAL loves their paperwork so much.
