The last guy (netjets) I sat next to was on a DL flight from MCO and he joked about being on an airliner more than he actually flew a plane. I asked him why he didn't don a civilian shirt before he boarded, he told me they do that to get through TSA without question from other pax, especially if they are in a hurry to get to/from a client's or aircraft's location.
Yeah... I was sitting on a JFK-LAX leg and my seatmate mentioned he had just flown ANC-JFK. I looked confused, knowing that no one flew that nonstop (...with passengers), until he clarified that he had just captain'd a 747F.

You may have reasons for why you don't want the upgrade and the system can't figure out if you're traveling with companions on separate PNRs very easily.
